HACU interns attend foreign policy briefing 

HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) participants recently had a chance to attend a Briefing on U.S. Foreign Policy Priorities in Washington, D.C.

Participants of the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) recently attended a Briefing on U.S. Foreign Policy Priorities in Washington, D.C.
Maria Otero, Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs, gave the keynote address and discussed foreign policy priorities. Other topics presented by a variety of speakers included:
  • U.S. – Latin America Relations
  • Political Transition in the Middle East and North Africa
  • U.S. Relations with Rising World Economies
  • 21st Century Statecraft – Innovation and Technology in Diplomacy and Development

The briefing which took place at the U.S. Department of State on July 15 also provided helpful information about student programs and career opportunities in the U.S. Foreign Service and U.S. Department of State. 

In collaboration with federal agencies, HNIP provides interns with special seminars and meetings with key government officials to acquaint HACU interns with the work of the federal government.
