HACU participates in ETS Invitational Conference in San Antonio for MSIs

The Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU) was among the speakers at the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Sixth Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and Tribal Colleges/Native American Institutions Invitational Conference. The conference under the theme “Many Cultures, One Common Thread” convened education leaders at minority-serving colleges and universities in San Antonio on February 27-29, 2012.

HACU President and CEO, Antonio R Flores, gave a keynote address during the luncheon on Key Issues for HBCUs and HSIs. President & CEO of the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education, Lezli Baskerville also spoke during the session chaired by ETS Senior Vice President Michael T. Nettles.

HACU Chief Technology & Innovation Officer Ray Lopez was among panelists discussing Closing Achievement Gaps and Next Steps In Pursuit of Teacher Quality and Closing Achievement Gaps.

The conference topics focused on emerging issues in teacher licensure and effectiveness, research related to closing achievement gaps, and Praxis™ test development and preparation.
