U.S. Secretary of the Interior to speak at HACU’s Capitol Forum, March 26

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) announces that U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will speak on March 26, during the opening luncheon of its 2012 Annual National Capitol Forum on Hispanic higher education. The luncheon panel on “The 2012 Election: HSIs and the New National Agenda,” will take place at the National Ballroom of The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center from noon – 1:30 p.m.   

Other panelists include: Richard Fry, senior research associate of the Pew Hispanic Center; Adriana Kugler, chief economist to U.S. Department of Labor Secretary, Hilda L. Solis; and Robert M. Brandon, president of the Fair Elections Network.

The Capitol Forum is a two day event. A workshop on Funding Opportunities at the Federal Level will take place prior to the luncheon. Other topics to be discussed on the first day of the Forum include: Key Legislative Proposals in the 112th Congress: Authorization Bill; The Budget's Impact on HSIs: Appropriations for FY 2013; Questions and Answers for Legislative Hill Day; and Student Advocacy 101.
