HACU welcomes more summer interns

HACU staff welcomed 70 more students from colleges and universities nationwide to the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP). These students will serve as interns from June 18 to August 25.

More than 300 students began the summer program earlier this month, with most serving in federal internships located in Washington, D.C., and field offices across the nation. In addition to the thirty-one students already serving in corporations throughout the U.S., two students, Cesar Torres of California State University, San Bernardino, and Heidy Ortiz-Payan of the University of California, Riverside, will be working with corporate partners, MasterCard and PBS respectively.

This year HNIP, the nation’s largest Hispanic-focused internship program, is celebrating 20 years of providing interns for the federal government and private corporations, with total placements approaching 10,000 students, many of whom have gone on to full-time government or corporate careers.
