HACU and MALDEF join as amicus curiae in Fisher v. UT Austin

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) joined the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) and other national Latino organizations in filing an amicus curiae brief in the Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin case that the Supreme Court of the United States is expected to address this fall. The brief is available here.

At issue is whether this Court’s decisions interpreting the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, including Grutter v. Bollinger, permit the University of Texas at Austin’s use of race in undergraduate admissions decisions.
