Advancing Graduate Education in the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences to be discussed at HACU’s 10th International Conference

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) will feature a panel discussion on the topic “Advancing Graduate Education in the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences,” as part of the 10th International Conference Feb. 27 - March 1, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas. The theme of the conference is “Creating Global-minded Environments on our Campuses.”

The following are the plenary panelists on March 1 at 9-10:30 a.m. 

  • Hiram Larew, Ph.D., director, Center for International Programs National Institute of Food and Agriculture USDA
  • José Joaquín Campos Arce, Ph.D., director general, Center for Tropical Agriculture Research and Higher Education (CATIE)
  • Nilsa A. Bosque-Pérez, Ph.D., professor of entomology, director UI-CATIE IGERT Project, University of Idaho

The conference will also include a free exhibitor’s fair in the Lone Star Foyer open to the public on Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and March 1 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

conference room rate is available until Feb. 5th at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio Hotel, where the conference will be hosted. Online Registration is available until February 20. On-site registration will be available thereafter.
