HACU President speaks at AAU’s Second Ford Colloquium, Michigan

HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores served as a keynote speaker at the Second Ford Association of American Universities (AAU) Colloquium on the topic “The Future of Campus Diversity: Addressing the Challenge," on May 20, 2013 in Ann Arbor, Mich. The colloquium is focused on effective practices for AAU universities affected by anti-affirmative action laws in seven states and to ensure that campus diversity reflects state populations.

The colloquium unites the member institutions around a shared vision for public campuses that recognizes the reality of the growing demographic of majority-minority populations in K-12 schools and beyond. Dr. Flores will provide remarks on Latino student recruitment and educational equity for those students and their families.





  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
