President Obama Issues Proclamation for National HSIs Week - Sept. 15-22, 2013

Today President Barack Obama has issued a proclamation designating Sept. 15-22 as National Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) Week.

In an excerpt of the proclamation, President Obama states, “Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) impart essential knowledge while broadening horizons and giving students the tools to pursue their own measure of happiness. During National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week, we celebrate these institutions, renew our support for their mission, and recommit to helping tomorrow's leaders reach their fullest potential.” To view the full proclamation, click here.

National HSIs Week offers an opportunity to honor the work and commitment of HSIs in addressing the higher educational needs of Hispanic students through institutional and academic support.
