Latino Higher Education Leadership Institute agenda now available online

The agenda for the 2th Annual Latino Higher Education Leadership Institute, a pre-conference workshop of HACU’s 27th Annual conference, is now available online as a pdf.

Participants will choose two 50 minute roundtable workshops/special topic discussions out of the following seven:

  • Pursuing the Ph.D., Ed.D., MBA – From Beginning to End
  • Latina Leadership, What the current research and our own experiences tell us
  • Capacity Building in Sponsored Research & Advocacy
  • Mentoring, "Lifting and Enlightening" others to the next level of leadership
  • Fundraising: Yes, you too!
  • Increasing Latino/a Representation at the Top Ranks of Higher Education: What must we do?
  • Leadership, Latino Style: Using your cultural autobiography to inform your professional perspective in higher education 

Leading the discussions during the institute will be Thomas R. Martinez, Ph.D., professor in the department of Public Policy and Administration at California State University, Bakersfield. The Institute will include a morning keynote address by Patricia Arredondo, Ed.D., president of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's Chicago campus, and an afternoon keynote address by Timothy White, Ph.D., Chancellor of California State University System. 

A panel comprised of top Latino presidents including: Mildred Garcia, Ed.D., president of California State University – Fullerton; Ana M. Guzmán, Ed.D., president of Santa Fe Community College; and William Serrata, Ph.D., president of El Paso County Community College District.
