Over 500 high school students from Arlington, Ft. Worth, Dallas, Irving and Duncanville school districts received college information and campus tours at HACU-member institution University of Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington), as part of an event to provide future college students information about the enrollment process and opportunities. Students from nearly 20 schools participated in this event, part of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and U.S. Army University Tour, Sept. 30 - Oct. 4, 2013.
HACU's Assistant Director of K-12 Initiatives Jeanette Morales, UT Arlington's Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs David J. Silva, Ph.D. and UT Arlington's Recruiting and Enrollments Advisor Kevin Smith welcomed the students who received helpful information on college admissions, financial aid and scholarships. A presentation titled "Opportunities in the Military for your Education & Career" was also presented by UT Arlington's ROTC Professor of Military Science Lt. Colonel Lora Rimmer and Capt. Jose Jimenez, company commander of the Dallas Recruiting Company under the U.S. Army Recruiting Command.
