HACU recognizes partners and inducts two higher education leaders to the HACU Hall of Champions

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities presented HACU Awards of Excellence during its Power Lunch on October 28th. HACU partners were recognized for exceptional work and contributions to HACU’s mission and two higher education leaders were inducted to the HACU Hall of Champions.

The following individuals accepted awards at the Partnership Luncheon:

  • Don Jackson, Chairman and CEO and Jennifer Jackson, General Manager accepted the Outstanding HACU Private-Sector Partner award on behalf of Central City Productions, Inc., producers of the Hispanic College Quiz Show.
  • Amber Bullock, Executive Vice President of Program Development accepted The Extraordinary Philanthropic Partner Award on behalf of the American Legacy Foundation.
  • Mary Sally Matiella, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Financial Management and Comptroller accepted The Outstanding HACU Public-Sector Partner award on behalf of the U.S. Army.
  • Anna Solley, Ph.D., president of Phoenix College was inducted to HACU's Hall of Champions.
  • Carlos Hernández, Ph.D., former president of New Jersey City University was inducted to HACU's Hall of Champions.

The Convener for the Partnership Luncheon was President of California State University-Northridge, Dianne Harrison. Partnership Luncheon sponsors recognized included Aramark, ASA-American Student Assistance, and the U.S. Army.
