International leaders unite with HACU on its 2015 international higher education conference

A year prior to its international conference events, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced that “100,000 Strong in the Americas: Challenges and Opportunities for a More Prosperous and Fair Hemisphere; La Fuerza de 100,000 en las Américas: Oportunidades y Desafíos para un Hemisferio más Próspero y Justo,” will be the theme of its 11th International Conference, Feb. 25-27, 2015 in Guadalajara, Mexico.  HACU also announced a Symposium will take place a day after the conference in Guanajuato, Mexico.                       

On Feb. 25, approximately 30 individuals were part of a meeting with HACU staff and representatives from higher education institutions and organizations in Guadalajara to discuss planning and collaborations for the International Conference. The meeting, led by HACU president and CEO Antonio R. Flores, also included a welcome by Lic. Antonio Leaño Reyes, Rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, which will serve as the host institution for the event taking place at Hotel RIU Plaza Guadalajara. Sergio Arias Negrete, Director de Cooperación Académica, Universidad de Guanajuato, also provided an overview of the Symposium to be held at the Universidad de Guanajuato on Feb. 28, 2015.
