HACU president attending domestic and international events in May

HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was the commencement speaker for HACU-member institution Notre Dame de Namur University on May 3, addressing more than 400 students receiving their degrees.

On May 7, Flores will be giving the welcoming remarks at the symposium: “International University Collaboration in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics,” organized by the Fundación Consejo España-Estados Unidos and the Fundación Ortega-Marañón, in collaboration with HACU and the U.S. Embassy in Madrid.

Flores will also be attending the Anniversary Gala of HACU-member institution Hope College’s TRiO Upward Bound college-readiness program as banquet keynote speaker on May 17. The gala is part of a day-long series of events and proceeds from some of the activities will go to supporting the Upward Bound Scholarship Fund.



  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
