Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was among the diverse group of leaders who took part in the Path to Positive – 2014 MomentUs Leadership Summit in Chicago, Ill. Flores was a panelist in the session “A Challenge For All Of Us: Climate and Society.” The gathering of more than 140 leaders provided the opportunity to develop actionable solutions to climate change at the MomentUs Leadership Summit held May 21-22, 2014.

Leaders from health, communities, higher education, business and faith sectors shared their perspective on how climate change impacts various sectors and their thoughts on mobilizing people to respond to the challenges.

The MomentUs leaders announced a Path to Positive plan for their sectors and the nation in response to the U.S. National Climate Assessment released May 6. The plan is a commitment to lead by example on climate change and to engage others in reversing the impacts of climate pollution on our health and economy. This includes launching specific programs and websites to support faith, health, higher education, business and other communities with information and tools to address climate change. The first of these programs, Blessed Tomorrow, was launched just prior to the summit. The summit marks the first time these diverse leaders have come together to share their expertise and develop ideas for engaging their communities in climate solutions.
