HACU represented at the Latino Magazine 2014 Enseña Awards honoring STEM teachers

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) was among the organizations that attended the Latino Magazine 2014 Enseña Awards held in San Antonio, September 29. The event recognized outstanding Latino teachers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields from around the country. The teachers recognized will also be featured in Latino magazine.  

Alfredo Estrada of Latino Magazine gave the welcome remarks. Speakers included HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores; President and CEO of San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Ramiro Cavazos; Executive Director of Tex Prep at the University of Texas at San Antonio Rudy Reyna; Principal of South San Antonio High School Henry Yzaguirre; and event partners Nissan, U.S. Air Force and others.

 

  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
