HACU Signs MOU with The Department of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico to promote “La Isla del Encanto” as an education destination.

HACU president and CEO Antonio R. Flores and Alexis Morales-Fresse, Under Secretary for Administration, Department of State, signed the MOU to establish a framework for HACU to help promote the offerings of the various academic institutions in Puerto Rico to students across the United States and internationally.

The signing took place at the Power Lunch of HACU's 28th Annual Conference, in Denver, Colorado. Alexis Morales-Fresse, Under Secretary for Administration spoke about the importance of the MOU.

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
