Call for nominations for 2015 HACU Hall of Champions

Nominations have opened for the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities – HACU Hall of Champions, an opportunity to recognize individuals who have transformed and expanded the landscape of higher education for Hispanics.

Since the HACU Hall of Champions was created in 2011, six individuals have been inducted and honored during HACU’s Annual Conference in October.

Nominations are accepted from the general public and will be reviewed by the Executive Committee of HACU’s Governing Board.

  • Nominees may be living or deceased.
  • Nominees must have made extraordinary contributions to Hispanic higher education success.
  • Nominations shall document nominees’ special accomplishments in championing Hispanic higher education success.
  • The award shall be accepted by the nominee in person or, if the nominee is deceased, by a family representative.

The HACU Hall of Champions inductees have all had distinct career paths and accomplishments, yet share characteristics defining them as Champions of Hispanic Higher Education. Among them are: passion; vision; pioneering spirit; a lifetime commitment to education; and extraordinary contributions to Hispanic higher education success. Nominations will be accepted by the deadline of 5 p.m. CDT on April 10, 2015
