HACU’s national conference on Hispanic higher education to focus on empowering students, enhancing collaboration

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has released the workshops and events scheduled for HACU's 29th Annual Conference, Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success:Empowering Students, Enhancing Collaboration," Oct. 10-12, 2015, Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel in Miami Beach, Fla.

Workshop sessions will examine topics under the following six tracks: grants and funding opportunities; partnerships that work; academic success for Hispanic students, research and practice; advocacy and legislation; international partnerships; and executive leadership for presidents and CEOs.

"This year's pre-conference events will include a PreK-12 Higher Education Collaboration Symposium for superintendents of Hispanic-Serving School Districts and college/university presidents/CEOs,” said HACU president and CEO Antonio R. Flores.

“Our aim is to bring together stakeholders to enhance collaborations between higher education institutions and PK-12 partners and share resources on programs for improving the success of Hispanic students and closing the education gaps.

The three-day general conference will feature workshops and plenary sessions on national and international topics, pre-and post-conference events, Career Fair, Exhibit Hall, a lively Town Hall meeting, and a Student Track, in conjunction with the general conference. 

An early bird conference registration rate is available until May 31. 

HACU’s premier conference on Hispanic higher education is expected to draw more than 1,500 participants from national and international institutions.
