More than 50 leaders in STEM and diversity spoke at this year’s conference, under the theme, “Teach, Inspire, Hire: Discovering and Growing America’s Diverse Talent Pool,”  a call to action, with a special emphasis on increasing the ranks of women, minorities, veterans, and other underserved and underrepresented populations in STEM careers.

The keynote and breakout sessions highlighted solutions, best practices and model programs making an impact across the nation.

In addition to Flores, the opening keynote panel, “Making STEM Diversity a National Priority,” included Wanda Austin, Ph.D., president and CEO of Aerospace Corporation; Michael L. Lomax, Ph.D., President and CEO of  the United Negro College Fund; Leland Melvin, NASA astronaut and host of Lifetime’s “Child Genius”; and Timothy P.
