HACU renews partnership with EPA

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) representatives signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at HACU’s 29th Annual Conference on Oct. 13 in Miami Beach, Florida.

The MOU is intended to advance participation of Hispanics in the agency’s workforce, promote equal opportunity in higher education and contribute to HACU’s member schools and other Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). Students from HSIs will also be encouraged to pursue careers in STEM and other career fields critical to the EPA.

HACU and the EPA initiated a collaboration in 2009 and have since extended outreach to minority and underserved students and increased teaching of environmental issues.
