SIT opens study abroad scholarships to HACU-member students

The School for International Training is offering eight $10,000 study abroad scholarships to students attending Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) member institutions for select Africa, South of the Sahara, programs for spring 2016.

Programs open for application are:

Cameroon: Social Pluralism and Development
Kenya: Urbanization, Health, and Human Rights
Madagascar: Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management
South Africa: Social and Political Transformation
South Africa: Community Health and Social Policy
Senegal: National Identity and the Arts
Tanzania-Zanzibar: Coastal Ecology and Natural Resource Management
Uganda: Development Studies
Uganda: Post-Conflict Transformation

Students must submit an application for the program of interest on www.sit.edu by Nov. 13. Students are also required to submit a 250-300 word essay describing why they consider it essential for United States students to have first-hand experience in Africa during the 21st century. The essay should be sent to studyabroad.scholarships@sit.edu with a subject line “Access Africa 2016 Scholarships.”
