HACU Alumni Association names new chairman, board officers

Albert A. Cruz, a director of the investment banking program for the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, was named chairman of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Alumni Association.

Cruz, who is a 2005 HACU National Internship Program alumnus, succeeds Leysha López Recci. Cruz will direct the engagement and represent HACU alumni as a voting member on the HACU Governing Board.

Prior to his role at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, Cruz was an associate director at UBS Investment Bank in the US Equity Capital Markets Group in New York, where he co-captained the Success Skills Volunteer Program, mentoring Brooklyn high school students for three years.

Cruz is a native Texan who earned a bachelor's in international business and corporate finance from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, a HACU-member institution.
