Joseph “Joe” T. Mella of Goldman Sachs was recently named chairman of the Corporate and Philanthropic Council (C&PC) of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). Having previously served as vice chair, Mella succeeds Jerry Gattegno of Deloitte Tax LLP and will serve as a member of HACU’s Governing Board.
Jim Fjelstul of Sodexo will serve as vice-chairman. Jorge Caballero, senior partner of Deloitte Tax LLP, joins the 2015-16 C&PC.
The Council advises and supports HACU in its engagement of private-sector corporations to advance its mission of Championing Hispanic Success in Higher Education. A key advisory group, the Council helps HACU develop business partnerships and enhances philanthropic support at local and national levels.
