HACU Capitol Forum webinar, Capitol Hill visits planned for Hispanic-Serving Institutions convening April 24-25 in Washington, D.C.

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) will host its 22nd Annual National Capitol Forum on Hispanic Higher Education, April 24-25, 2017, in Washington, D.C.

Some changes to previous years’ activities include a webinar to be held on April 17 at 1 p.m. for registered attendees; registration will open in March. The webinar will provide an overview of what to expect when meeting with congressional offices, including the do’s and don’ts, review key points and provide a question and answer opportunity in advance of the Capitol Forum. New to the Forum is a change of location for day two, with all morning sessions being held on Capitol Hill prior to the visits on day two.

The two-day HACU Capitol Forum will feature complimentary pre-forum sessions covering funding and policy topics of importance to Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and emerging HSIs. A separate briefing is also planned for students attending the Capitol Hill visits with their institutions.

Participants will have an opportunity to gain insight into the most pressing legislative and appropriations priorities. Sessions are designed to provide updates on HACU’s Legislative Agenda, higher education policy issues and their implications for HSIs.
