HACU president and CEO featured in Latino Leaders magazine

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was featured in Latino Leaders magazine issue "Leaders on Trump," in which heads of various organizations were interviewed regarding how to advance their mission goals with the new administration.

In the interview, Flores was asked what he would directly ask President Trump if given the opportunity. His response, “…include HSIs [Hispanic-Serving Institutions] and Hispanics in all federally funded higher education programs that already provide funding for other Minority-Serving Institutions and minority students, but exclude HSIs and Hispanics.” Flores also noted HACU’s commitment to the continuation of current DACA protections for DREAMers and ultimately the passage of the DREAM Act.

Among the other Latino leaders interviewed were Cid Wilson, CEO of Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR); Janet Murguia, president of National Council of La Raza (NCLR); Maria Teresa Kumar, executive director of Voto Latino; Henry Cisneros, former Secretary of HUD and former Mayor of San Antonio; and Arturo Vargas, president of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO).
