HACU president speaks at the Annual Teacher Diversity Partner Summit

HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was a panelist at the Annual Teacher Diversity Partner Summit held by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and co-sponsored by the National Education Association on May 17, 2017, in Washington, D.C.

A panel discussion titled, “Higher Ground: A Conversation about Colleges and Universities,” addressed how Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Tribal Colleges and Universities are preparing a significant share of future teachers of Color and highlight some of the challenges, issues and successes.

Joining Flores on the panel were leaders of the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education and the American Indian Higher Education Consortium. Tim Finklea, American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education will serve as the moderator.
