Santa Fe, New Mexico, selected as site
for HACU’s 6th International Conference

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) announces Santa Fe, New Mexico, as the site for HACU’s 6th International Conference, “Technology and Culture: International Convergence,” May 22-24, 2005.

An international roster of public policy and education leaders will address a conference designed to foster new strategic partnerships and cross-border initiatives to promote the global reach of Hispanic higher education. The conference will take place at the Eldorado Hotel in historic downtown Santa Fe.

“United by our heritage, we also share a mission to develop international education partnerships to advance a new era of multicultural understanding, leadership and peaceful cooperation,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores.

“In this global, technology-driven economy, which is rapidly lowering the barriers between individual countries, promoting international collaboration in education can bring about the promise of prosperity and social stability for all,” Flores said.

With more than 350 member colleges and universities located throughout the United States, Latin America and Spain, HACU is the leading international voice for Hispanic higher education.

HACU’s community, government, philanthropic and corporate partners contribute diverse perspectives and support to HACU’s international conferences and outreach.

HACU’s 6th International Conference will feature bilingual workshops and special plenary sessions on topics ranging from the international reach of today’s education technologies to cross-border academic, cultural and economic development trends. Information, services, products, programs and technology resources for the global higher education community will be showcased at the 6th International Conference Exhibit Hall.
