Reaching a milestone of 25 years of opening doors of opportunities to
college students, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) in partnership with federal agencies continue providing college students valuable career
experience through paid internships.
This summer through the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP), 216 college students received paid summer internships at federal offices across the nation. Nearly 70 percent of all interns were placed at federal agencies in Washington, D.C., while the remainder interned in both urban and rural locations in more than 20 states.

• More than two-thirds of interns are female • More than a quarter of the interns are graduate students working on their masters, JD, or Ph.D. degrees. • Close to 70 percent of all interns are working in Washington, D.C., and the rest are interning in either urban or rural locations in more than 20 states. • Racial/ethnic representation is: 63% Hispanic, 17% White, 10% African American/Black, 6% Asian, and 10% undisclosed.
