HACU statement on providing support to Texas and communities affected by Hurricane Harvey

“We are greatly saddened by the devastation and hardship caused by Hurricane Harvey to families in Texas communities, including our colleges and universities in Houston, Galveston and the Coastal Bend region,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “All of us at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) send our thoughts and prayers to Texas families and other communities affected by the storm.”

Locally in San Antonio, Texas, where shelter is being provided to evacuees, the Food Bank is collecting monetary donations online. They are also accepting material donations and are in need of volunteers. Information is available at https://safoodbank.org/.

The Red Cross is accepting financial donations to provide immediate disaster relief. Visit their website online at https://www.redcross.org/donate/hurricane-harvey.
