HACU International Plenary to focus on education and prosperity in the Western Hemisphere

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) will present an International Plenary on, “International Education as a Key Driver of Western Hemispheric Prosperity,” Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, 9:00 – 10:15 a.m., as part of its 31st Annual Conference taking place in San Diego, Calif. at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.

The plenary will discuss how enhanced collaboration between U.S. higher education, governments, university associations, and institutions of higher education can spur the economic prosperity of nations in the Western Hemisphere. A U.S.-Mexico binational perspective will also be presented discussing successful programs and practices affecting the social and economic well-being of both countries.

The plenary speakers will discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Latin American and Caribbean nations to increase participation in cross-national programs, particularly with the U.S.

The plenary will be moderated by Diana Z. Rodriguez, President of San Bernardino Valley College.

Roman Macaya Hayes, Ambassador of Costa Rica to the United States of America

Sue Henderson, President, New Jersey City University
