HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) celebrates 25 years

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program (HNIP) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a reception on October 4, 2017, at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center in Washington D.C.

Since 1992, HNIP has provided real world job training for students while enhancing their professional skills and allowing them the opportunity to interact with a motivated and talented peer group. To date, HNIP has placed college students in more than 12,000 paid internships.

“HACU is fortunate to work with federal and corporate partners committed to a diversified workplace," said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores  "Thanks to their collaboration, the HACU National Internship Program has made it possible for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from across the nation to gain invaluable career experience.”

Flores, HNIP Executive Director Jonathan Santeliz and HACU Alumni Association Vice-Chair for Community Affairs Gilda Cornejo were among those who spoke at the reception.
