Donation presented in Phoenix at Coors Light Gira Onda Norteña featuring popular Norteño group Los Tucanes de Tijuana

Phoenix (November 18, 2005) – The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) announced that Coors Brewing Company will make a $40,000 donation to the Coors Light Academic Success in Education Fund (CLASE).  The funds will be presented November 19 in Phoenix onstage at the Coors Light sponsored Los Tucanes de Tijuana concert at Park n Swap. The donation is part of Coors’ ongoing partnership with HACU through which 240 Latino students have received scholarships since the year 2000.

“With help from the contributions of Coors, we can continue to provide scholarships, educational and career programs for Latinos in the United States and Puerto Rico,” said Dr. Antonio R. Flores, president and CEO of HACU.  “The CLASE scholarship gives students the chance to become leaders on campus and leaders in their communities.”

“The CLASE scholarship program is a great opportunity for Coors and HACU to fulfill a need in the Latino community,” said Olga Garcia, corporate relations manager for Coors Brewing Company.  “Giving back to the community is something we feel strongly about at Coors Brewing Company and we’re proud of our association with an organization that makes a tremendous difference helping Latino students reach their potential.”
