HACU announces Design Your Future/Diseña Tu Futuro Competition

Five college students will have a chance to receive a scholarship, demonstrate their design skills, and walk a fashion runway during a Student Track event at HACU’s 23rd Annual Conference taking place at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Walt Disney World®, FL, October 31-November, 2 2009.  

The Design Your Future/Diseña Tu Futuro competition, in its second year, is presented by HACU, Gap Inc. and LATINA Style.  Fashion design students enrolled at a HACU-member institution (listed below) are encouraged to enter the competition. An on-line application,  a design of a suit (appropriate for a job interview), and supporting documentation must be submitted by June 12, 2009.

Finalists will receive:

  • A scholarship award ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • An opportunity to walk a fashion runway during a Student Track event at HACU’s 23rd Annual Conference taking place at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Walt Disney World®, FL, October 31-November, 2 2009. 
  • An article highlighting their accomplishments in a major Hispanic publication, along with photos from the final competition.
  • Finalists will be notified of their selection the week of July 20, 2009.
