HACU 2009 Youth Leadership Development Day proclaimed in Orlando

Mayor Buddy Dyer of the City of Orlando proclaimed Friday, October 30, 2009, as “HACU 2009 Youth Leadership Development Day.” The proclamation was presented during a Youth Leadership Forum hosted by the University of Central Florida. The Forum provided information to high school students about higher education.

The preconference event was held as part of HACU’s 23rd Annual Conference. Approximately 250 students attended the event, which included breakout sessions on career choices, academic preparation, classroom experience, admissions, and financial aid, as well as a campus tour.



  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
