National magazine recognizes Flores and HACU-member institutions as “Movers & Shakers” in higher education

In its Jan. 4 issue, “The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education” magazine recognized HACU President and Chief Executive Officer Antonio Flores among the "Top 10 Movers and Shakers" in higher education.

The list also includes the following administration and faculty members from HACU-member institutions: Eduardo Padrón, president of Miami Dade College (FL),; Juliet V. García, president of the University of Texas-Brownsville,; Richard Tapia, Maxfield-Osham Professor in Engineering at Rice University (TX) and Director of Rice’s Center for Excellence and Equity in Education,; Ricardo Fernández, president of Lehman College, The City University of New York,; and, Dr. Arturo Madrid, Norine R. and T. Frank Murchison Distinguished Professor of Humanities at Trinity University (TX).



  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
