Secretary Duncan reinforces importance of improving Hispanic higher education attainment

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Juan Sepulveda, director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans, were among the speakers who discussed Hispanic higher education during HACU’s Annual Capitol Forum.

Secretary Duncan spoke of the need to increase the college enrollment and graduation rates of Hispanic students and the need for more Hispanic teachers in K-12 classrooms

The 15th Annual Capitol Forum was held in Washington D.C., April 18-20. Approximately 175 higher education stakeholders and college presidents attended the Forum.
