Higher education honorees among HACU awardees during Power Lunch

HACU announced three of its 2010 President’s Awards of Excellence at a Power Lunch held during the association’s 24th Annual Conference in San Diego, CA.

The awards were presented following a keynote address by Congressman Bob Filner of California’s 51st District. The following President’s Awards of Excellence were presented:

  • HACU’s President’s Award of Excellence to Milton Gordon, Ph.D., President of California State University, Fullerton, for demonstrating exemplary leadership in advancing HACU’s mission and organizational development.
  • HACU’s Lifelong Leadership Award to Agnes Mojica, Chancellor of the Universidad InterAmericana, San Germán, Puerto Rico for her lifelong service to Hispanic higher education. Mojica served on the HACU Board in 1996.
  • Outstanding HACU-Member Institution award to the San Bernardino Community College District, in recognition of their extraordinary support of HACU’s mission.

Each year the awards are presented to individuals and organizations that exemplify HACU’s mission of championing Hispanic higher education. HACU will present three other awards during it's partnership luncheon on Sept. 20.
