HACU's 20th Annual Conference attracts over 1600 attendees to San Antonio
“HACU’s 20th Anniversary Conference was by every measure the best conference to date,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores.  “The support and commitment shown by all the attendees, the sponsors and the San Antonio community in general this year was tremendous.”  (more)

Our Lady of the Lake University hosts 950 high school students during leadership forum
OLLU hosted 950 high school students from various school districts in San Antonio and the surrounding area to the Youth Leadership Development Forum on Oct. 26. The forum was held in conjunction with HACU’s 20th Annual Conference, “20 Years of Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success.”  (more)

HACU signs 2 MOUs to increase study abroad opportunities for students
HACU recently signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) to help students with study abroad scholarships.  Both MOUs will work to reduce the gap in Hispanic participation in study abroad programs.  Hispanic students study abroad at about half the rate of all college students due to issues related to actual and perceived affordability, limited awareness and home institution capabilities.  (more)

HACU-Laureate International Program Scholarship Recipient Studies in Spain
Edgar Luna still finds it hard to believe that one day he was in San Jose, CA, and the next in Madrid, Spain, where he started his study abroad semester in September through the HACU-Laureate International Program.  (more)
