It is also available in a one-page summary.

Closing the Minority-Achievement Gap

The president of HACU Partner Institution University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Freeman A. Hrabowski III, and Susan B. Layden, Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Skidmore College, were guests at the Chronicle of Higher Education’s online discussion on “Closing the Minority-Achievement Gap” May 30.  The discussion aimed to establish a dialogue about the lack of high performing minority students at colleges and universities.  While much discussion has focused on the educational attainment gap, there has been little attention on the performance gap between minorities and non-minorities even at selective institutions.
