While all registrants can take advantage of our online registration system and make hotel reservations online, students have until August 10 to apply for conference scholarships. HACU President & Former Board Member Among Top Latino Leaders
Latino Leaders magazine has named former HACU Governing Board member Ricardo R. Fernández, Ph.D., President of HACU-member Lehman College of the City University of New York, and Antonio R. Flores, Ph.D., President & CEO of HACU, as two of the Top 101 Leaders of the Latino Community in the U.S.

HACU Kellogg MSI Fellow Dr. Tomás Morales named President of the College of Staten Island
Dr. Tomás D. Morales, University Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at HACU-member California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a participant in the Kellogg Minority-Serving Institution Leadership Fellows Program, was appointed President of the College of Staten Island on June 25, 2007. HACU Welcomes Aboard New Coast Guard Liaison
Captain Brendan "Corky" Frost (shown here with HACU President Antonio Flores) has been assigned as the U.S. Coast Guard’s new Liaison to HACU. The San Antonio native is a graduate of the Coast Guard Academy and has a Masters of Education (Educational Technology) from the University of Missouri. Working with HACU, Capt. Frost’s goal is to gain visibility with Hispanic-Serving Institutions and their students so as to increase the number of applications from qualified Hispanics for the Coast Guard active duty and reserve officer corps, as well as the civilian workforce.

Rosa Carrillo, of HACU-member California State University-Long Beach, was one of 20 individuals recognized by Dale Moore, USDA Chief of Staff, as E. (Kika) de la Garza Fellows in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Hispanic-Serving Institutions National Program. More.

As reported in HACU's July 11 Advisory, the U.S. Department of Education announced on that date the opening of competition for FY 2007 Title V grants for the “Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program.” The deadline for submission of completed applications is August 10, 2007.
