HACU National Internship Program reaches 20-year milestone
 
This year marks a 20-year milestone for the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP). Through the years, HNIP has been instrumental in opening doors for students at federal and corporate internships nationwide.

The HNIP milestone will be celebrated with an Emerald Gala on October 22, 2012, in Washington, D.C. 

More than 30 students interning this spring at federal agencies in Washington, D.C. and offices throughout the country will soon join the roster of alumni from the program. Students interested in being considered for the summer program are encouraged to submit an online application by March 30

Luncheon to focus on HSIs and the New National Agenda  

The 2012 Election: HSIs and the New National Agenda will be the topic of discussion on March 26 during a luncheon that kicks off HACU's 2012 Capitol Forum on Hispanic Higher Education. 

The two-day Capitol Forum will also include HACU-planned visits to Capitol Hill to speak about the critical need to preserve Title V funding, the USDA HSI program funding, and other HSI programs. 

Your participation will make a difference for HSIs, for Hispanic student access and success, and for the future of our nation.

Call for Presentations for HACU Annual Conference 

Speaker proposals for HACU’s 2012 Annual Conference will be accepted until April 13. The annual conference will take place Oct.  20-22 in Washington, D.C.

HSI department chairs of emergency management 

HACU and The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) will host a course for Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), titled
E390 Integrating Emergency Management Education into Your Institution. The course is being offered, by-invitation only, to HACU-member HSI department chairs of emergency management related disciplines. Applications due by Feb. 13. More>>
