Tomás A. Arciniega to be inducted into HACU

honored on Monday, Oct. 22 during the Partnership Luncheon of HACU’s
2012 Annual Conference. More>>
HACU’s 2012 Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
convenes this month The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities
(HACU) 2012 Annual Conference is just over two weeks away, taking place in
Washington, D.C. at the Marriot Wardman Park Hotel. The conference will feature
69 workshops and over 100 exhibitors from across the country, and is expected to

The APIACU joins
the Alliance for Equity in Higher Education The Alliance for Equity in Higher
Education accepted a request for membership from the Asian Pacific Islander
American Association of Colleges and Universities (APIACU), joining
HACU in representing shared interests of Tribal Colleges and Universities,
Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Funding
for HSI-related programs facing possible mandatory cuts in 2013 On the return of Congress from
the current recess, several budgetary matters that directly concern
Hispanic-Serving Institutions will need to be addressed. Appropriations for
fiscal year 2013, which began Oct. 1, have not been passed and a six-month
Continuing Resolution is in place to allow government operations to continue.

Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) Week. More than 70 tweets celebrated
HSI accomplishments. On Sept. 19, the resolution to designate
“National HSIs Week” passed the Senate by unanimous consent.
