Free webinar for paid summer internships 
Students interested in working with a federal government agency or at a corporation this summer can apply to the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) by March 1, 2013. Individuals are encouraged to rsvp to attend a free webinar at 5 p.m. EST on Feb. 12. The HNIP webinar will provide an overview of the program structure, eligibility requirements, and application process.

International Conference to take place at the end of the month
In approximately 20 days, HACU will welcome national and international participants to San Antonio, Texas for its 10th International Conference. The Spanish Ambassador to the U.S., D. Ramón Gil-Casares Satrústegui, will be among the  speakers. The agenda is available online. Individuals can also register online until February 20. Onsite registration will be available. More>>

Capitol Forum early bird deadline expires
HACU’s 18th Annual National Capitol Forum on Hispanic Higher Education is only two months away. The two-day Capitol Forum will take place at the Westin Washington D.C., City Center on April 15-16. 

The deadline for early bird registration rates is Feb. 14. Ad space reservation deadline is Feb. 22. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.  More>>

Minority Serving Institution Discretionary Grant 
The MRS Program will provide grants to support research by graduate students at selected graduate institutions with high proportions of minority and low-income students (referred to in this notice as Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) in the areas of retirement security, financial literacy, and financial decision making (personal savings, labor force planning, personal debt, etc.) within minority and low-income communities.
