Hispanic College Quiz 2013
The Hispanic Association of
Colleges and Universities (HACU) and Central City Productions are once
again partnering on the “Hispanic College Quiz” show series. Applications
from HACU-member institutions in the U.S. are currently being accepted.
The “Hispanic College
Quiz” features Hispanic college students answering a series of
multiple-choice questions on Latino history. This year's series will
consist of four half-hour quiz shows that will air across the country,
September 15 – October 15, 2013, during Hispanic Heritage Month.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Student must be an undergraduate student attending
a HACU-member
institution in the
U.S.
- Only one student per institution is eligible to
participate.
- Entry should be submitted by the individual who will
serve as the coach for the student or a
university administrator/representative. Only one entry per
institution will be considered.
- Online application must be submitted at www.hacu.net by May 3, 2013.
Selection Details:
- Participants will be announced on June 5th.
- Central City Productions will randomly select nine to twelve
entries from HACU–member institutions in the U.S.
- From those institutions selected, one student and one
coach/advisor will be flown, at the expense of Central City Productions,
to Chicago for the taping in August.
- The 2013 taping will take place on the weekend of August
24th. Flights will be booked for a Friday departure and a
Sunday return date.
- Two copies of the Hispanic College Quiz study guide
will be provided to study for the quiz show.
- The show will be broadcast on English-language television
stations.
- Selected students and their coach will be provided
with hotel accommodations, per diem and ground transportation in
Chicago.
- The finalist will receive scholarship funds for their
current college education.
- A conference call for all competing schools will be
scheduled with all coaches to go over the rules of the quiz show, the game
play and the study guide, as well as to answer any questions that coaches
and administration may have.
