Community-Based Job Training Grants, U.S. Department of Labor

The deadline is August 29, 2006 to submit grant applications

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) of the U.S. Department of Labor will provide $125 million in grants to individual community and technical colleges, community college districts, state community college systems and career centers to support and engage in a combination of activities for the purpose of building the capacity of community colleges to train for careers in high growth industries in the local and/or regional economies. The award ceiling for grants has been set at $2,000,000 and the award floor at $500,000.

The deadline is August 29, 2006 to submit the grant application whose total program funding consists of $125,000,000. Please relay this message to the appropriate individuals and departments.

Community-Based Job Training Grants will be awarded through a competitive process to support workforce training for high-growth/high demand industries through the national system of community and technical colleges.  The expected number of awards total 75.
