The deadline is March 4 for early registration discounts to attend HACU’s Capitol Forum on Hispanic Higher Education April 3-5, 2005, in Washington, D.C.  Please take advantage of these discounted registration rates (at http://www.hacu.net/), and forward to your senior staff, program directors, deans, faculty and students.  Please also register today for discounted hotel rates.

About the Capitol Forum:  April 3-5, 2005

HACU’s Capitol Forum is the single most important national platform for advocating for the federal funding needs of the Hispanic higher education community. This year is especially critical, since the White House already is proposing freezing or reducing budgets for key higher education programs that directly impact your campus.

HACU’s Washington, D.C., staff is now scheduling visits to Members of the Senate and House for HACU’s day of visits to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, April 5th.  Please contact Luis Maldonado (202) 261-2091 (lmaldonado@hacu.net) to request meetings with specific members of Congress. Your grass roots voice will be critical to our efforts to win substantial funding increases for Hispanic higher education in this crucial year.
