Annual Conference Student Scholarship Opportunity

Apply early for a student scholarship to attend HACU’s 24th Annual Conference: “Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Expanding Opportunities in Challenging Times," September 18-20, 2010, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, California. The HACU conference annually attracts hundreds of distinguished academic, corporate, federal, public policy and community leaders, along with top corporate and federal employers. A special Student Track program is specifically designed for students. It is a forum for students and professionals to discuss issues and share information.

A limited number of scholarships are available to eligible students to attend the HACU conference. Student Track Scholarships will cover costs for (1) conference registration; (2) travel and lodging for out-of-state students; (3) conference-related meals; and (4) conference-sponsored entertainment events.  Conference Scholarship recipients are required to attend ALL Student Track activities. Scholarships are provided to students by HACU's corporate and federal sponsors.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree program
  • Have not received a HACU Conference Scholarship for the 2009 Annual Conference
  • Must be physically attending home institution in the Fall 2010
  • Must be willing to be sponsored by a corporate or federal sponsor

HOW TO APPLY:

To be considered for a Conference Scholarship, students must complete the 24th Annual Conference Scholarship on-line application and email a one-page resume by August 9, 2010.  Conference scholarships are awarded based on criteria set by HACU's 24th Annual Conference Sponsors (e.g., geographic preference, major, etc.).  Applicants will be notified by e-mail of their selection or non-selection.  Scholarships are very limited and HACU Student Track encourages you to consider alternate methods to attend the conference such as being sponsored by your school or employer via the Student Ambassador Program.
