Member Advisory - June 20, 2008 DoEd: CCRAA Applications must be double-spaced On June 20, HACU received a letter from the U.S. Department of Education (DoEd) confirming our earlier conversations with officials there regarding the guidelines for CCRAA-HSI grant applications. The letter repeats the Federal Register requirements that all text, including that in graphs, tables, and footnotes, be double-spaced. (A copy of the letter is available online under presentations.) Please be aware that the U.S. Department of Education will NOT accept applications that do not adhere to the Federal Register guidelines (in spite of contrary language in their own application forms). CCRAA-HSI grant applications are due by Friday, June 27, 2008. DoEd also notes: “It is strongly recommended that potential applicants familiarize themselves with the Grants.gov Web site and complete the required registration well before the closing date.” Past experience indicates that applications received after the deadline, even because of technical “glitches,” will not be considered.
