The scholarship is in line with HACU’S stated mission of “improving access to and the quality of post-secondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students” and with the HACU Alumni Association’s intent of “advancing the mission and goals of HACU.” Specifically, the scholarship is consistent with HACU’s stated legislative priority of securing passage of the DREAM Act, a bipartisan bill that has been introduced in every Congress since 2001.

ELIGILIBILITY

The scholarship is open to students who

- Would have been eligible for permanent residency under the Dream Act of 2009 (S.729)
- Have completed their first year of college and plan to continue for a second year
- Must be attending a HACU-member institution
