Broward Community College Semester - Seville, Spain

Centro Internacional para Estudios Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible (CIEMADeS)

Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program - Through the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, the Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program brings scholars from abroad to U.S. campuses to significantly internationalize host institution campuses and curricula. Grants are available to bring scholars as resident fellows for one term or an entire academic year to teach and consult in area studies programs, interdisciplinary programs that focus on global issues or courses where participation of a foreign Scholar can provide a cross-cultural or international perspective. Preference is given to institutions that infrequently or never host Visiting Scholars and that serve student populations underrepresented in international exchange programs, especially minority students.

Global Learning Semesters
Global Leraning Semesters and HACU partnership offers study abroad scholarships, international program capacity-building.Every HACU institution is eligible to participate in the Hispnic Study Abroad Scholars Program (HSAS) and can nominate one student each semester for an HSAS scholarship.

CIEE Advanced Liberal Arts program at the Universitat de Barcelona - HERITAGE LEARNERS TRACK
CIEE offers a special track for Heritage Learners. Students who choose to be part of this track will take the course Spanish for Heritage Speakers followed by four regular university courses at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). Universidad de Alcalá - "Teach and Learn In Spain Program" 
The "Teach and Learn in Spain Program" has scholarships available to study for a "Master en Enseñanza de la Lengua, Literatura y Cultura en el Mundo Hispánico" or a "Master in Bilingual and Multicultural Education." Application Deadline is Feb. 25 (extended to March 13). The program includes a teaching internship at a school within the Community of Madrid. Students will teach English conversational classes while receiving a monetary compensation. The "Teach and Learn in Spain Program" is offered by Universidad de Alcalá, Spain, and provides students with the opportunity to live, study, and teach in Spain for a year while gaining teaching experience.  Scholarships cover cost of tuition, insurance, and monetary compensation to help participants with room and board. INCAE – MBA “Leadership for a Change Award – 2010–2011”
Committed to the fulfillment of our mission, “Promoting the comprehensive development of the countries served, educating leaders for the key sectors by improving their practices, attitudes and values,” INCAE Business School is sponsoring one scholarship for each of the 35 countries in the American Continent. The award is US $22,351, equivalent to 70% of the tuition, which will be awarded to full-time, residential MBA students at INCAE Business School in Francisco de Sola Campus, Nicaragua.  The program begins in February each year, lasts 15 months, is taught only in Spanish and is organized in 10 modules, lasting five weeks each. Students can also major in Marketing.
The purpose of this program is to allow student to: 

  • Acquire knowledge in the areas of management, entrepreneurship and analysis of the environment that allows students to fulfill their professional responsibilities.
  • Develop group work abilities to face regional opportunities and challenging situations with a leadership attitude.
  • Identify opportunities and the necessary managerial processes to facilitate changes in their organizations and communities.
  • Facilitate the experience of developing an integrated and global vision of Latin America and the role of business in its context.
  • Introduce the concepts oriented towards sustainable development and competitiveness in the region.

The purpose of the “Leadership for a Change Award” is to support the education of young leaders of the region by helping the future entrepreneurs and leaders that will enrich and contribute, with their knowledge, to each of their countries.
Requirements to apply:

  • Be a citizen of one of the countries of the American Hemisphere
  • Be admitted at INCAE Business School MBA Program. The entire admission process must be completed from the country of residence regardless of citizenship.
  • Have outstanding undergraduate achievements
  • Have outstanding GMAT, GRE or Laspau score
  • Have a multicultural background and a high sensibility to innovative development models and a willingness to strengthen ties among the various countries of the American hemisphere
  • Have attended a HACU-member institution
  • Demonstrate financial need.

Applications are welcome once candidates are admitted at INCAE and up to December 7, 2009. 1st International CESINE Conference on Global Education is coordinated by CESINE University, a HACU international member institution in Spain.

7th International Conference on Chicano Literature in León
The Universidad de León will host the 7th International Conference on Chicano Literature to serve as a center of debate among researchers, scholars and writers as well as to share new findings in the field of Chicano literature. This international event has taken place in Spain every two years since 1998. Higher Education for Development, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Department of Education, anticipates making up to ten (10) awards ranging between $100,000-$150,000 each for 18-month partnerships between U.S. community colleges and community and technical colleges in the Broader Middle East and North Africa (BMENA) region focusing on one or more of the following request for applications objectives:

  • Develop capacity-building policies and strategies that result in faculty recruitment, retention and professional development
  • Establish business and education partnerships that promote workforce development through capacity-building at the community and technical college(s)
  • Develop and implement programs of study  that provide  vocational education and technical training linked to employment
  • Strengthen institutional practices and policies that improve student transitions to, through, and from community/technical colleges
  • Develop and deploy technological innovations that improve instruction and integrate technology and classroom practice to meet the needs of the productive sectors in society
  • Design standards, procedures, and guidelines that strengthen accreditation and quality assurance practices

Castilian and Leones Institute of the Language Foundation - SPANISH LANGUAGE COURSES FOR FOREIGNERS

Proyecto para Movilidad Estudiantil HACU-OUI/IOHE, nace de las conclusiones obtenidas en la VII Reunión Internacional de la Asociación Hispana de Universidades (HACU), realizada en la Universidad de Alcalá, España, del 3 al 5 de mayo del 2007. El Programa de Intercambio de estudiantes tiene como meta favorecer la movilidad internacional permitiendo que un alumno inscrito a tiempo completo en una institución universitaria tome cursos en otra universidad.  Para más información en español favor de presionar aquí.   

HACU-OUI Student Mobility Project was originally set up following the conclusions reached at the 7th International Conference of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), which was held between May 3-5, 2007 at the University of Alcalá, Spain.  The student exchange program seeks to promote international mobility by enabling full-time university students to take academic courses at sister universities.  For more information in English please click here.

 

HACU-AIFS Scholarship Program 
American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS). The AIFS-HACU program will provide scholarships of up to 50% of the full program fee to study at Richmond, the American International University in London, England. The student will become part of a special internship program where they will be placed with an international company in their field of interest to gain work experience. The program is available during the summer and both fall and spring semesters.

HACU and Fundación EOI, Spain, have renewed an MOU which provides 20 scholarships of 50% for EOI graduate programs in Madrid or Sevilla, Spain and 15 scholarships of 30% for EOI’s International Master Executive TICAL Program (9 months on line and three week stay in Spain.) HACU-IES Scholarship Program 
The Institute for the International Education of Students (IES). The IES-HACU program will provide five awards of $ 1000 to HACU member institution students beginning the summer of 2010. Beginning with the fall semester, 2010, there will be one award of $ 2500 each semester. IES is one of the nation’s oldest, largest, and most reputable study abroad providers, IES Abroad is a growing Chicago-based, not-for-profit organization that enrolls more than 5,000 students annually.

HACU-INCAE scholarship
Leadership for Change Award”, the scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit to applicants with a multicultural background and willingness to work and doing business throughout the Americas. Students from any HACU member institutions are eligible to apply. Applicants need to apply for admission as a first step. Applications on line are accepted at http://www.incae.edu/EN/maestrias/admisiones/solicitud-de-contrasena.php.

Conditions:
INCAE provides 70% of the costs of academic tuition for the Masters Program, equivalent to U.S. $ 23,100. The student must finance the balance, corresponding to 30% of the total program.

  1. The scholarship applies only to the to INCAE’s Masters in Business Administration Program (MBA) at the Campus Walter Kissling Gam (Costa Rica)
  2. HACU´s University members only
  3. Applications will be received until June 18th, 2010.
  4. INCAE will notify successful applicants before June 25th, 2010.
